First Race

[ Someone is a little anxious. His chin rests in his hand and some pages can be heard fluttering in the background because, although you can't see it, his foot is tapping at super speed. ]

Hmm. 11 floors, 160 rooms, decent facilities, but it's so much smaller than I was expecting. I mean, I'm sure it's big enough for everyone's needs, but do you know how many times I can visit every room in half a minute? Too many, that's how many.

But hey, I'm sure I'll find a way to entertain myself. This whole inmate deal, when does that happen? Oh, sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself.

[ He smiles winningly. ] I'm Wally West, your newest warden. So, when can we get this party started?

I guess the universe does almost end every couple years so. Maybe not.

Basically, an alternate version of Lex Luthor tried to make the perfect earth and ours almost didn't make the cut. We stopped him, obviously, but uh. A lot of people died, a bunch of people are still missing in action, and... it was kind of a nightmare.

Wow. It really is every couple of years, huh.

Apparently. Here's hoping it's a while before the next one. I'm not sure how much more of it I can take.

I figure we've got a good five years at least.

You'd think the universe would be able to hold off on ending for longer, though.

You know what they say about cleaning up messes. You turn for back for one second...

Guess it keeps us busy.

Of course. What would we do with all our time if the world didn't need constant supervision?

Lead relatively normal, danger free lives?

[ He grimaces at the very thought. ]

Seriously. Think of all the free time we'd have.

I could make millions doing odd jobs at super speed and live on my own island. Might not be so bad, actually.

Sounds kinda lonely.

Oh, well, in that case.

If there ever comes a time where I have so little going on that I can afford my own island, I will personally disassemble Titan Tower and move it there myself. We can bring the whole gang. Assuming Raven doesn't try to kill me.

So, we talking Caribbean or South Pacific?

Caribbean for sure. I hear the woman are pretty hot.

Definitely the most important factor to be considered.

Hey, if we're gonna be spending the rest of our lives there, it's very important! That and the weather.

Well, clearly we're set either way, weather-wise, except for like, hurricane season.

We should probably get a calendar for hurricane season. And good insurance.
