First Race

[ Someone is a little anxious. His chin rests in his hand and some pages can be heard fluttering in the background because, although you can't see it, his foot is tapping at super speed. ]

Hmm. 11 floors, 160 rooms, decent facilities, but it's so much smaller than I was expecting. I mean, I'm sure it's big enough for everyone's needs, but do you know how many times I can visit every room in half a minute? Too many, that's how many.

But hey, I'm sure I'll find a way to entertain myself. This whole inmate deal, when does that happen? Oh, sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself.

[ He smiles winningly. ] I'm Wally West, your newest warden. So, when can we get this party started?

Maybe, I'm not really sure. Most people who know about it seem to really only know about me being Robin. They've never heard of Nightwing, and I think Tim's been able to fly under the radar with most people, which is... weird.

I've been told I need to sit through some of the movies at some point, but I've been kind of avoiding it.

Movies? Now this I've gotta see.

I've been told they're pretty terrible.

Even better. Does anybody on board have them?

Tim said he confiscated them so they wouldn't be readily accessible to just anyone. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind us borrowing them.

Isn't he like, little brother obligated or something? You can always play the seniority card if he says no.

That's an excellent point. You want to meet up in one of the common rooms in like, ten minutes and watch one?

Absolutely! Beats sitting around all day.

[At the moment, Dick doesn't really care, because you've been missing in action for a while back in his timeline so seeing you alive is pretty cool. You might be getting a totally manly hug right now.]

So, Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever - which apparently has me in it although I definitely don't remember ever wearing this outfit or looking like that - or Batman and Robin? There's like, two other ones but they're by different directors or something.

I wanna see my best man on the big screen. Which one with you came first?

Ironically, Batman Forever, I think, if the copyright dates on the back are accurate. Seriously though, look at this guy! He looks nothing like me!

It's like I raided Tim's closet and made some horrible adjustments.

All right. [And he does!] If I have some kind of mental breakdown because of this film, the medical ward's on the second floor. Just in case you forgot.

[ He waves off the concern. ] Eh, I coulda found it anyway.

Guess that's one point in its favor.

I wonder how many other people we know have their own movies. This is totally weird.

I'm sure Supes has his own movie. Probably Wonder Woman too. Think there's a Green Lantern movie?

Probably, I mean, Hal's a pretty important guy.

I bet all the big names have movies. I wouldn't mind watching a movie about Wonder Woman...

If the casting's as crappy as this movie? Might not be as much fun as you'd think.
