Could you give Drake his ring back? I think we've reached an understanding.

"And you never took it off. He must have meant a lot to you." Wally understands. He still has the ring Barry wore before he died.

"He abandoned me when I was fifteen." And he was still bitter about that, because he had meant a lot to him.

Wally knew that feeling too. "But you still kept it. That's some dedication."

He fiddled with the ring a bit, then took a drink when his bloody mary came up. "I kind of hoped he'd come back. And I liked being closely connected to my powers."

Wally was subconsciously fiddling with his own ring, that doubled as his warden item and the holder for his costume.

"That's really the only way you've found to use them?"

"I never tried to find another way. There might be one, I know that Prime Merlinean was supposed to be able to use his powers without the ring, but don't know if that's true."

"You never wanted to try?"

"I never thought about it until I came here. Now I kind of want to, especially since...Horvath probably took my ring when he killed me. He drained me, and that probably would be the best thing to channel his new magic, since it was mine for so long. Which means when I go back...I don't know if I'll be able to keep it."

"Maybe we could work on that when you're further along. I wouldn't get too far into planning your triumphant return just yet."

"Oh, right. Especially since I'm a Morganian. I'm naturally evil."

He has to roll his eyes at that. "Nobody's naturally evil."

"My parents were both evil. And their parents were evil. It runs in the family."

He quirks an eyebrow. "You know genetics don't work that way, right?"

"I was never the sciencey sort."

Wally disappeared for a full minute, returning with a biology book open to a passage that explains, in relatively simple terms, that personality is determined as much by environmental factors as by genetics.

"There, see? It's all in your head."

"But I want to be evil. Be good at being a Morganian and all that."

"And how's that going for you so far?"

"The guy I was working for killed me. And I thought we were hitting it off so well, too."

"Most of the good guys don't kill each other, in case you were wondering."

"Well, I don't think most bad guys do, either. I mean, just because you're evil doesn't mean you can't be loyal, does it?"

"You might be surprised how quickly they turn on each other."

"I was really surprised. But I'm really loyal."

"See? You've already got some good in you." Wally give him a manly pat on the back, grinning at him before he takes a long swig of his drink.

"That's not good. Loyalty can be evil. You can be loyal to the cause of bringing back Morgana le Fay who will make an army of undead soldiers, or loyal to someone whose killed hundreds of people and be willing to kill innocent people for them."

"Yeah, but it takes some moral fiber just to be loyal. Better to be loyal to someone or something and do that sort of thing than to be disloyal and totally detached and do that sort of thing."
